Whiting Native Garden

These new Whiting homeowners were interested in creating a native garden to help the local habitat flourish, specifically for butterflies and pollinators. Their current backyard was overcome with weeds and untended spaces. In our design, we focused on creating walking paths, reducing the lawn footprint (meaning less maintenance), and building a hangout space that was more inviting.

After forming an initial idea combined with a potential phase two expansion, we added native pollinator plants where it made sense, then included a variety of plants and seasonal interest, pathways to walk through, and spots to sit and enjoy nature.

We coordinated with a local contractor to get everything cleaned up and installed. The result? Pollinators found the homeowner’s garden as soon as the first fall following our installation!
